Secret Story: Supernova
This femme has an incredibly special place in my heart, inspired by a very short poem I wrote:
Supernova
Indigo sky on the
Darkest of nights.
Standing tall,
She was a supernova;
Nothing could dim her light.
My muse is surrounded by beautifully scented jasmine symbolising, beauty and love which symbolises purity. While I feel this can be a loaded and frankly, over used word in many contexts, I choose to consider my use of purity in the sense of her spirit rather than any other connotations. As jasmine blooms at night, I felt it fitting for my beautiful supernova.
Look at her gaze and placement of her hand. She’s looking out, protecting herself from challenges (whether they come from within or outside). She’s ready with an open heart to respond, rather than react to any situation.
A whimsical crown adorns her head, a combination of flowers and jewelled stars. The pink roses symbolism her feeling of gratitude. Orange symbolises her passion for life. Notice the purple stars. There are some sources that say that wearing purple means that one is aligned with the whole of the universe. I really like that.
Her shawl features paisley shaped supernovas. When I think of shawls I think of mothering and nurturing. I liked that in this instance her pose could be construed as her mothering her inner child… Paisley is said to be a symbol of life and eternity - something I feel reminded of when I gaze up to the stars at night. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I like to go outside at night and gaze up at the stars, remembering how they are not only light, but how I can feel connected to all I love, no matter where they are in the world, because they are able to look up and also revel in such a glorious sight.
When all else fails, I urge you to look up at the stars and wonder at the beauty that exists in our world no matter what is happening around us…
